Lead time of handmade jewellery 

All items are lovingly handmade, therefore please allow 4-6 weeks for manufacture and delivery of items. Should an item require a longer manufacturing time, the purchaser will be notified. Homeware items require a longer lead time as they are made and shipped from central South Africa. 

Gold-plating

Biophilia Jewellery does not guarantee the longevity of gold-plating. Although we use only the best plating techniques, we advise that gold-plated items should be kept away from water and perfumes, as well as daily wear. Re-plating is R100. 

Returns policy

In the unlikely event of a manufacturing defect on chains or handmade jewellery, there will be a free refund / replacement or repair within 14 days of purchase, depending on the defect. Please be delicate with fine chains. We repair jewellery at a surcharge should your items break after a 14 day return period. 

We do not accept returns of items on sale. 

Incorrect sizing 

Biophilia Jewellery will not be help responsible for surcharges (including resizing and courier costs) involved should our handmade jewellery be the incorrect size. It is of utmost importance to correctly measure and confirm your size prior to the purchase of your jewellery item. Please contact us via email should you have any queries regarding sizing. 

Tarnishing of silver or brass jewellery 

Brass and silver are strong, durable metals, but can tarnish over time if exposed to elements such as water, perfumes or chemicals. Use the polish cloths provided or use Brasso or Silvo metal cleaner to quickly and easily restore your jewellery's shine. 

Allergic reactions to jewellery

Biophilia jewellery will always enclose the materials used in the description of the jewellery. Please take careful note of the descriptions before using the jewellery. We use only sterling silver, brass, surgical steel and gold in our jewellery. Should you experience an allergic reaction to our jewellery, please contact a doctor immediately. We will not be held responsible for any allergic reactions, but please contact us immediately should you experience allergies so that we can investigate our materials. 

Shipping 

Biophilia Jewellery will not be held responsible for customers who provide incorrect shipping details.
