How to Prepare Your Pieces for Re-Plating: Step-by-Step

Follow these steps to ensure your jewellery arrives safely at our studio:

1. Clean it gently: Wipe your piece with a soft cloth to remove surface oils.
2. Untangle chains: Fully detangle all chains to prevent tension and breakage during transit.
3. Bag it individually: Place each item into its own small, airtight zip-lock bag or original Biophilia packaging
4. Wrap securely: Wrap the bagged jewellery in bubble wrap or tissue paper if possible, especially for more delicate items.
5. Box it up: Place the wrapped items inside a sturdy shipping box or padded envelope.
6. Include your details: Insert a note with your name, order number, and return address.

Remove silver & gold-plated silver jewellery when bathing, showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Make sure your jewellery does not come into direct contact with soaps, perfumes or body lotions, as this can cause discolouration & tarnishing.

Chains are delicate & can snag on clothing or during sleep so add your jewellery after you've dressed. If you enjoy stacking your jewellery, make it a habit to regularly detangle your chains to avoid tension and breakage.

It is natural for silver to tarnish over time and gold-plating does wear off with frequent wear, so we do not offer guarantees on silver or gold-plated jewellery for this reason, thus we encourage taking proper care of your new jewellery.

Store your jewellery in its own airtight bag or box, away from humidity. Avoid storing your jewellery with mixed metals such as stainless steel or costume jewellery to prevent contamination. To clean your jewellery, wipe it with a soft cloth / polishing cloth or use a proper jewellery cleaning solution from an accredited source.
